A Word from Frank: You'll get a kick out of this example of technology gone awry! A few of our subscribers work for companies that subscribe to a service (Trend SMEX Content Filter) that screens all incoming e-mail to protect their employees from "sensitive content". The first time I ran afoul of them was when they decided that they didn't like the last word in our newsletter title, which in their circles is a "bathroom" word. You and I know, of course, that "the straight poop" is acceptable slang meaning "reliable inside information". There is also, in naval parlance, the "poop deck", which means "an exposed partial deck on the stern superstructure of a ship". I got them straightened out on that one.

Last week, most of you saw our featured web site, a spoof on Dashiell Hammett's Sam 'Spayed' in "The Case of the Maltese Frog". In our lead-in to the link, we quote the part where Sushi the Shi-tzu comes into Sam's office and, after describing her, he says "I knew right away she was no ordinary b_tch (a word meaning a female dog). My good friends at Trend SMEX bounced this one because it offended their sexual discrimination policy! I think I'll just let this one go.
