| A Word From Frank: ![]() I just read that there's a nasty worm on the loose that pretends to be an electronic Christmas card (likely from someone you know since it has replicated itself inside your correspondent's computer, hijacking their address book). If you open the attachment, your computer could be in big trouble. Moral of the story? Don't open an email attachment unless you know who sent it to you AND you are expecting the attachment from them. Reliable greeting card companies don't send greetings as attachments... they send you an email that gives you a link to a web page (you know, those things that start with "http" or "www") which you can click on and read the greeting on their web site. Want to know more? Visit "Aunty Spam's Net Patrol" for all the latest about spam and viruses. Back on my soap box, reminding you of my message last time: Please, no Christmas puppies, watch out for antifreeze and those liquid-filled Christmas tree ornaments, and make yourself fat with the chocolates if you like, but please keep them out of Max's mouth. And, of course, a very Merry Christmas and a most Happy New Year to you and yours (including your pets). See you next time. Wishing you a warm puppy 'til then. Frank | ||||||

The Puppy Corner: Crate Training Puppies http://www.veterinarypartner.com/Content.plx?P=A&C=23&A=1129&S=1 Every puppy needs to learn the skill of resting calmly in a crate. This skill will be needed at the veterinary hospital, for traveling, and for restricted activity due to illness. It's also a lifesaver for many young dogs during the destructive chewing stage that starts at several months of age and can last until age 2 to 3 years in some breeds. After a dog has become trained and reliable in the house, the crate will often be needed only for specific reasons rather than everyday use. One critical situation that can call for bringing out the crate again is separation anxiety. read more. |
Dog Health & Nutrition: Dogs feet care http://nd.essortment.com/dogsfeetcare_rekk.htm Dogs feet care. What you should do to care and look after your dog's feet, paws and claws. It is important to look after and care for your dog’s feet. As with humans dogs depend on their feet and if that are not properly cared for this can cause discomfort and limit your pets activity. Dog’s feet should be kept clean. Always remember to wash the feet as well when you bath your dog. Wet the feet and gently clean around the paw area and the claws. This should not cause you pet any pain and if it does so, then you should probably take your dog to the vet as there may be some infection or problem. read more. |
Dog Activities and Training: Ending Destructive Chewing http://www.doglogic.com/apdtfaqs.htm#EndingDestructive Dogs love to chew. Puppies chew to investigate their environment and to relieve the discomfort of teething. Adult dogs chew because it feels good, it helps pass the time when there’s nothing else to do, and sometimes because a tooth hurts or some nutrient is missing from the diet. Left to their own devices, dogs will often chew on the first object they come across, or an object that smells like the owner. read more. |
