The last article I reviewed and placed in this edition of The Straight Poop was the the one on the featured rescue group, and when I read about what these kind and sympathetic people are doing to help out some senior dogs who have not had an easy life, it tugged at my heart strings. Makes me want to see if there's anything like that I can do. Remember, we humans domesticated these animals and we bred them, so it's up to us to be responsible about them. I hope some of you will read the article and maybe a few of you will actually be moved to action.

I'm off to see my Albuquerque grandchildren (Rachel, Jordan and Natalie) next weekend. It's been a while since we've been together, and I'm really looking forward to seeing them.

Being a California boy, I never had to worry about a damp basement. But here in hot, sticky Toronto, it can be a big problem. A friend told me to get a dehumidifier. I bought one yesterday, plugged it in about 6:00pm, and by 6:00am the next morning it had accumulated about a gallon of water. Wow!

Living in a Toronto suburb I see it from time to time (in my vet's waiting area, for example) and I'm always impressed.
