While searching for a good dog book to present in this issue, my eye immediately caught "Dog is My Co-Pilot". Why? Many years ago, when I was just a little guy, my uncle was the art director for a World War II movie called "God is My Co-Pilot" (see the play on words?) based on a book of the same name recounting the war-time Flying Tiger experiences of Robert Scott, an American aviator.
You can imagine what a thrill it was for a little boy to meet a real, honest-to-gosh war hero. I still have a copy of the book, autographed by the author, Col. Scott. A great memory, not only of meeting him, but also of my uncle, who was a gem of a man.
