A Word From Frank:
We're a day late this week getting The Straight Poop together, so I'm sitting here at my computer on Sunday, May 25 putting the finishing touches on it. And the little TV I have on my desk is tuned to the Indianapolis 500, "the greatest spectacle in racing." I've been listening to (anyone else old enough to remember when it was only available on radio?) and/or watching the race as long as I can remember. I've only been in Indiana to drive through without stopping, but listening to Jim Nabors belt out "Back Home in Indiana" before the race gives me goose bumps every time. And what it makes me realize is that despite the fact that I live in Canada now, I'll always be a red-blooded American "boy" at heart. Whether or not you're a racing fan, and despite the fact that a significant number of the drivers come from other places these days, the Indy 500 is about as American as you can get, right up there with the fourth of July and the stars and stripes. I don't always agree with our government, but I'm about as patriotic an American as one can be. See you again next week. Wishing you a warm puppy 'til then, Frank. |

Dog Health & Nutrition: Pet Food Antioxidants: An Update
It won't do anymore to just grab the cheapest thing on the shelf and not worry about ingredients. Higher quality dry dog foods are using natural antioxidants as preservatives these days, but that means a shorter shelf life. Be informed, and make better choices when it comes time to decide what your best friend gets to eat. From the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association. |

Chewproof Kuranda Dog Beds.
What our customers say: "My dog was staying away from home for a short spell recently - he was sleeping with 2 other dogs - not on his Kuranda. When he came home, he had developed sores and calluses on most of his leg joints. Within 2 weeks of being back on his Kuranda bed, they had healed and gone." Emma from Canada.
